Africa is the womb of mankind giving birth to the world. Time and time again Africa’s children have returned and each time have brought with them the experiences of other lands. It is the echoes of the movement and energy of people that gives Africa her unique beat.

It is this beat that we attempt to encapsulate into each design. Taking the very soul sound from a site, merging it with the individualistic energy of the people who will live there and creating designs that are not only one of a kind, but intricately enfolded within the essence of the environment.

Because of the diversity in both topography and culture within Africa, inspiration for design is always stimulating and challenging. Every piece of Africa holds its own story, its own sound that is utterly unique. A small change in its immediate environment has an accompanying effect and our design intention is to always keep as true to what the site is calling for without upsetting the balance of surrounding sites.

The great artistry held within the African continent is both ancient and new, with influences rising from all over the world being translated to suit the African way. Design in terms of Africa should never be boring, never be typical; because it doesn’t have to be. With so many raw materials to work with, there is immeasurable inspiration right here in Africa.
